Ooty Lake Ooty

Ooty lake and the Botanical Gardens are the two favourite tourist spots of the visitors. The lake covers an area of one and a half square miles, with a railway running along one bank. The large graveyard of St.Thomas's church, built in 1870, overlooks the lake. It has the tallest memorial of Ooty, a huge pillar surmounted by a cross, over the grave of William Patrick Adam, the Governor of Madras Presidency, who died in Ooty in 1881. Paddle or rowing boats are available for boating enthusiasts.
Mudumalai Sanctuary

Mudumalai Sanctuary is situated between the hills and reveals the incredible natural beauty of the place. This sanctuary is situated on the Western Ghats. Mudumalai is 321 sq.km in area and shelters deer, wild elephants, tiger, leopard and the wild dog (dhole). The dholes hunt in packs. The Mysore-Ooty highway passes through the Sanctuary following the Moyar river. The population includes the hornbills, the great black woodpecker with its red crest, mynahs, barbets, parakeets, tiny eared owl and majestic birds like the crested hawk eagle and the crested serpent eagle.

Hogenakal Falls Hogenakkal

Hogenakkal is a beautiful quiet waterfall 25 kms from Darampuri and 80km from Bangalore towards Salem in the state of Tamil Nadu. The sight of the Cauvery river entering the plains and dashing against the rocks is mesmerising. According to it's devotees a dip in these waters is a sure-fire way to good health. A highlight of the whole experience would be a coracle ride through the gushing waters of the river to the base of the roaring falls.

Kovalam

Kovalam is a beautiful sea resort, the only one in Kerala. This beautiful fishing village is situated 10 km from Thiruvananthapuram. Kovalam consists of three successive small crescent beaches; the southern most known as Lighthouse Beach, is where most of the visitors spend their time. The light house on the promontory at the southern end of the beach, offers a spectacular view across to the Vizhinjam mosque.

Papanasam Papanasam

Papanasam is a holy beach which means 'Destroyer of the sins'. Mineral water springs come gushing out from the cliffs bordering the beach and are known for their medicinal qualities. The narrow road leading to the beach from Varkala is flanked by paddy fields and tall palm trees, on both sides. A Nature Cure Centre and a Jagannath Swamy (Vishnu) Temple are situated near the beach.

Charminar

A proud sentinel in the heart of the old City, Charminar is a majestic edifice built in 1591 by Quli Qutub Shah. All around Charminar, is a bustling bazar of pearls and jewellery shops, perfume and attar vendors. Laad bazar, famous for its glass bangles is close by.

Hussain Sagar Secunderabad

Secunderabad was constructed in 1562 A.D. Later 33 statues of historical personage of Andhra Desha were placed along the bund of the lake. The well laid out Lumbini park located in the Buddha Purnima project has a musical fountain.
